Seating
At GM Adapt we can supply and install a wide range of seating solutions as part of our car adaptations for disabled drivers and passengers who have restricted mobility when getting seated in the vehicle. This may be as a driver to transfer from their wheelchair or as a passenger to get in and out of the car. Our seating car adaptations for disabled drivers and passengers include the Turny evo child seat, discovery 2 motorised seat, Recardo specialist seat, taxi screen and seat conversion, autoadapt six way power base, Turny evo seat, motorised turn-in seat base, manual swivel seat plate and the automated headrest and backrest.
Turny Evo child seat
A motorised child seat which extends out of the vehicle to make it easy for a child to get seated. The seat then returns to its normal position. Most commonly installed in the second row of a car.
Motorised seat for the front passenger position designed for anyone who has difficulty getting in or out of the passenger seat. Controlled by a wired remote control the seat extends out of the vehicle and lowers to the ground.
The Recaro is most commonly fitted to a six-way power base for users to transfer to from their wheelchair. It features upper body support combined with a relatively flat cushion base to help with the transfer from your wheelchair.
The six-way power base is fitted to the existing car seat and is designed for wheelchair users to transfer from their wheelchair to the driver’s seat. The base has three switches for moving in and out, up and down and turning through approximately 120 degrees.
This powered passenger extends out of the vehicle to make it easy for the passenger to get seated. Using a control pad the seat then returns to its normal position in the vehicle. Most commonly installed in the front passenger seat of a car.
The turn-in seat base is a powered base that can be fitted to any front seat. Using a control pad the seat will rotate to approximately 90 degrees. This is designed for wheelchair users to transfer from their wheelchair into the front seat.
This adaptation is most often found in campers but in this application is used to allow passengers to transfer from their wheelchair to the front seat. A lever under the seat allows it swivel around 180 degrees.
This is a bespoke application as every wheelchair users’ requirements will be different, but the objective is the same – to offer additional back rest and head support while the occupant is seated in their wheelchair in either the driver or passenger position.
